* Note that runners claiming the Welsh Athletics discount must be paid up members of Welsh Athletics or UK Athletics.
Running numbers and timing chips will be issued at Registration on Race Day, from 9:30am to 10:30am at Monmouth School Sports Club, Hadnock Road, where there are also showers and changing rooms. The start is a 10-15 minute walk from the club car park and marshals will be in place to point you in the right direction.
RACE STARTS: 11.00 a.m. (note the walk to the start mentioned above)
Race briefing / Marshals
There will be a short race briefing at the start, where safety information and guidance will be given. There is one main road crossing on the route, marshaled by appropriately qualified people. It is possible that those marshals might need to hold back some runners for a short time in cases of emergency, or for your safety, or if a build up of traffic becomes a safety hazard for other road users. Whilst all race marshals should always be respected, you will understand that your patience and compliance at that road crossing are absolutely critical.
Car Parking
Free car parking is available at the Monmouth School Sports Club with additional parking available just over the road at the Cricket Ground. Please respect the directions given by our race marshals. Parking is limited – so if you are able to park in town and walk/jog over to HQ that would be appreciated. Please lift share, wherever possible.
Entry Categories
Minimum age is 16.
The race is open to all runners. We are proudly inclusive of all athletes and we welcome entrants as female, male or non-binary. As we are uncertain of the number of non-binary athletes who will enter this year, we will offer prizes in male and female categories only on this occasion and review this each year.
Please note that the course is multi-terrain, steep and slippery in places and is not suitable for wheelchair athletes.
There will be a prize for the first male and first female to reach the Round House at the summit.
One prize per person to allow for a wider distribution of the prizes. Prize categories as follows:
Male
Senior: 16-39
Veteran: 40-49
Super-vet: 50-59
Over 60
Female
Senior: 16-39
Veteran: 40-49

Over 60
Teams
There are no age categories for team entries but the minimum age of 16 still applies. Teams of 4, 3 to score [4th runner must finish and will be in any prize-giving]. There will be prizes for the first male team and first female team. This is based on the relative gender finishing positions of runners.
Entry fees are as for individuals.
Transfers
Runners can transfer their place to another runner, the original runner needs to via Fabian 4 up until 9/4/22. As is normal practice, it is absolutely forbidden to give your race entry to another runner without going through this official route.
Results
These will be available on our website after the race.
