We’ll get you into a team – you run round Monmouth – with at least a bit of tinsel in your hair (or go full-on Christmas Elf) – solve a few clues – find a few places – the last of which will be a pub where we’ll all have a Christmas drink together
The Spirit Run – Fancy Dress
OFFA’S DYKE RUN. 30th July – 1st August. 2021
What an adventure! We’ve never done anything like THIS before! Running the entire length of Offa’s Dyke. One group starting from Prestatyn in North East Wales, and another beyond Chepstow, converging on Monmouth.
Overnight camping. Meals. Relay running in groups. Starting 8am on Friday 30th July from Prestatyn. Amazing – memories to last a lifetime. Probably not too late to join in if you ask nicely!
Fab run at Tintern in June – which was followed by a fish & chip supper. Yum!
AWARDS NIGHT 2020 – WITH DEENA KASTOR! 29th January 2021 7.30-9.30pm.
Usually the big night of the year, with music, dancing, drinking – and a few trophies doled out too. Well you can still get your lippy on, your dancing shoes and a bottle of wine at home, because we’re doing our best via Zoom this year. But *** STOP PRESS *** this will be an extra special event because we’re going to be joined by a running legend to give us a fantastic motivational talk.
Can you believe that the great DEENA KASTOR, world renowned marathon runner, will be with us (virtually, of course). Deena is a three-time Olympian, with her career highlight being her Olympic bronze in Athens 2004 in the race remembered in the UK for Paula Radcliffe’s brave attempt ending with tears around the 23 mile mark. Deena also got great finishes in 5 World Championships between 1999 and 2013, mainly at 10,000m. She also has 5 World Cross Country medals and victories in the Chicago and London marathons, with her London time in 2006 still a US record. So get signed up soon!

CLUB AGM
Dear member, just a reminder that the Annual General Meeting of Spirit of Monmouth Running Club with be held on Tuesday 20th March 2018 at 19:30pm. There will be NO club on this night.
The meeting will be held at The Royal Oak, 134 Hereford Rd, Monmouth, NP25 3GA. Food (sandwiches and chips) and a drink will be provided for you by the club.
